Day-to-day job responsibilities include application development and maintenance within the suite of apps under the trading services umbrella - Position Blotter, Pricing engines, Batch processes, Distributed caches. Design, develop and maintain the trading services backend application that is completely Java based on the server side. Work with the Business Analysts on the team and understand the requirements and implement solutions for the trading services platform• Follow the agile development methodology to define/estimate deliverables for 2-3 week sprints. Ability to troubleshoot problems in existing application and navigate large code base and develop a big picture understanding of the flow. Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting existing code in large implementations across trading systems is a huge plus.

 

 

Must have at least 5 years of experience in design and implementation of Java serveer side architectures. • Unix shell scripting • Experience with implementing pub/sub solutions - EMS, JMS based architectures • Spring Framework, Hibernate • Experience with implementing large scale Java backend type solutions on Unix and Linux platforms. • Experience in building multi-threading based apps. • Experience with any app server (Weblogic, JBoss) • Experience with handling large volumes of data and caching mechanisms • Sybase or any other RDMS • XML • Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.

 

Product Knowledge in areas of - Fixed Income, Municipal Bonds, Cash products, Electronic Trading, pricing and analytics will be an added plus.
